Navigating a Stressful World

CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) for Anxiety

There is no shortage of stress in today's world. Anxious thoughts can sometimes seem to take over: Am I good enough? What does that person think of me? How will I get all of this done? Is something bad going to happen? Why can't I turn off my brain? Will this ever get better?

Most of us struggle in knowing where to start and how to change our anxious thoughts so they can stop holding us back. As professional therapists, we see this every day in the therapy room--people overwhelmed with the demands of every day life. With the recent surge in demand for mental health services, our colleagues and us have found our schedules stretched to capacity. Although we have worked to accommodate as many clients as possible, we saw that people needed help and needed help now.

This is why we created Navigating a Stressful World: CBT for Anxiety. This online course is packed full of information, strategies and techniques to help you get started with combating your anxious thoughts. We know it's hard, and you don't have to do it alone. This course is designed not to replace therapy, but to give you the tools to reduce your anxiety. If you are going to therapy, these techniques will give you a good head start, and should support your therapeutic work. You can even share your worksheets with your therapist. Navigating a Stressful World: CBT for Anxiety has been designed with people like you in mind: people motivated to make changes, and want to get started NOW. We developed a series of short videos and worksheets to introduce you to the concepts and guide you through using these techniques in your own life, for real change.

By the end of the course, you should have a good understanding of CBT, (which is an approach based on years of research and support for treating Anxiety and Depression). You will be better able to recognize your anxious thoughts quickly by learning the most common ways that our anxiety shapes our perception. You will learn 8 effective de-escalation techniques to calm your body and mind when anxiety flares up. You will learn our favorite combination of skills, which I call the Magic 6, which I have found to be one of the most effective techniques that I share with my therapy clients every day. Also, you will learn 14 additional CBT techniques for challenging anxious thoughts. Finally, you will have access to 16 downloadable worksheets that we designed to support you and help you be successful in reducing your anxiety.

This course is for you if:

  • You overthink things or feel like you can't "turn your brain off".
  • You experience panic, social anxiety, worry or general anxiety.
  • You want to make changes to feel less anxious and more in control of your thoughts!

Let's get started in taking back your life and reducing the impact of anxiety, so you can live life to it's fullest!

What if I'm already in therapy?
Awesome! This course does not replace therapy (and is not to be construed as to be therapy). Let your therapist know that you have been learning about CBT (they will know what that is), and you can even share your worksheets with them to talk about what you have learned works best for you.
How long will this course take?
Like any habit, changing your thinking habits takes time and practice. People who are most successful in applying CBT skills are intentional and not rushed. Some video sessions you will be able to watch and move on to the next session, while others will require a bit more practice to successfully move on. While there are almost 3 hours of videos included, they are broken down into shorter segments to maximize your learning and maintain your attention. We strongly recommend you not rush through the course--you will have the best results when you truly practice the skills being taught and apply them in your day to day life.
